Skid's Tractor Tour of Britain in aid of Race Against Dementia

Graham Scarborough is raising money for Race Against Dementia
Founded by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, Race Against Dementia funds breakthrough research to prevent and cure dementia, harnessing the power of Formula 1 to fast-track a dementia breakthrough.

Story

Graham Scarborough, who is Hertfordshire based, is a retired agricultural engineer who has spent his whole working life involved with ‘machinery and wheels’. Affectionately known as ‘Skid’ an appropriate nickname derived from his ebullient driving style during nearly 50 years of saloon car racing, his other passion also involves four wheels, but at a considerately slower pace, his lovingly restored 1961 Fordson Super Major tractor.

Entitled ‘Skids Tractor Tour of Britain’, Graham, the 1961 Fordson Major and a suitably well prepared trailer, bedecked in Race Against Dementia banners will set off on July 8th on a roughly 1,000 mile tour of Britain visiting racing and other friends (many whose lives have been affected by dementia).

According to three time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart 1 in 3 people born today will die from dementia, a shocking statistic. He is the founder of Race Against Dementia which funds scientists working to improve how dementia is understood and treated - and gives them the

time, support and environment to do it at the highest level. Graham (Skid) plans to head anti-clockwise up the East side of England, across the Scottish Borders and down the West side aiming to call in at Silverstone for the Classic on 24/25th July and then continuing on South and West before arriving home at the beginning of August.
