We are doing a charity fundraiser in honour of my beloved little sister, Melina, who sadly passed away last year on May 27th due to a rare genetic disease called Lethal Contracture Syndrome type 11, which only 2 people in the world have. Melina's generous spirit lives on as she donated her kidneys to save two lives. This charity holds a special place in our hearts, as it symbolises the continuation of Melina's legacy.

To commemorate Melina and support this cause, I, along with 11 friends, will be participating in a fundraising skydive at the end of August. Despite my fear, I am committed to this skydive knowing it's for a greater purpose. I choose to do a skydive because whenever I feel the warmth of the sun's rays, I see her smile shining through. Even though she passed away last year, her spirit still paints the sky with whispers of love, gently reminding us to cherish every moment. Your donations and shares would mean the world to us, and any contribution, no matter how small, will help make a difference. Melina's memory inspires us, and we hope to make her super proud.

This charity plays a vital role in transforming lives affected by end-stage kidney disease. Their support extends beyond the patient to their families, recognising that a kidney transplant doesn't just impact the individual but the entire family. They provide essential assistance to patients undergoing dialysis or those who have received a life changing kidney transplant. This support includes counseling all the way to financial aid, ensuring that patients and their families receive the best care they need during this challenging journey. The Irish Kidney Association has supported my mam and myself the past year with counseling and this why we want to support them back with this fundraiser and to allow them to continue supporting other families effected.
