Skye has (quite literally) ROPED us into participating in a charity abseil down the 12-story Sheffield Hallam building as a part of the Heroes of Sheffield abseil on July 15th. While I was hesitant at first, I understand the importance of this event and why Skye asked me to get involved. Our goal is to raise funds for Cavendish Cancer Care, a charity that is very close to our hearts. They provide essential support to thousands of people who are affected by cancer. My personal connection to the cause stems from a cancer scare I experienced when I was only 13 years old, and later on, my father's diagnosis with bowel cancer. During these frightening and uncertain times, Cavendish Cancer Care provided me with invaluable support and guidance, allowing me to process my emotions and feelings towards the big C word.

Skye has a personal connection to Cavendish Cancer Care and appreciates the support they provide to cancer patients and their families. The recent loss of a family member has deepened her understanding of the difficult journey that cancer patients and their families go through. It is essential to have access to support services and resources during this difficult time and we want to do our part in ensuring that the charity can continue to provide this much-needed support to those who need it most.

By taking on the 12 storey abseil that is the Sheffield Hallam Owen building and fundraising along the way, we are supporting cancer patients and their families in Sheffield and beyond.
