Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 23rd May, my son Elliott and I will be climbing Mount Snowdon to raise money for Cancer Research UK, in memory of my dad, Garry.
This date is especially important to us as it’s close to his birthday, and we wanted to do something meaningful to honour him and help other families facing the same battle.
My dad fought prostate cancer for a long time with incredible strength. Throughout it all, he remained himself - full of character and love for his family.
My Dad and Elliott shared a very special bond. They loved spending time together at the allotment, being outdoors, and just enjoying each other’s company. One of Elliott’s favourite memories is how his grandad would always tell him to 'sling your hook' when it was time to leave, something that always makes us smile when we think of him.
This cause is very close to my heart for more than one reason, and I know first-hand just how important the work of Cancer Research UK is. That makes this challenge even more meaningful for me, and even more important to complete alongside Elliott.
Elliott wanted to take on an outdoor challenge in his grandad’s memory, and at just 9 years old, he’ll be climbing Snowdon with me. I couldn’t be prouder of him for doing this for someone he loved so much.
We are hoping to raise £500 to support life-saving research and help other families create more precious memories together.
Elliott says he’s climbing Snowdon because he loves his grandad and wants to help other people get better.
Thank you for helping him do something so special, and for helping us honour Garry 💙
