Story
Building on Smart DCC’s incredibly successful 3-month fundraising campaign for National Energy Action - which raised over £2500 last year - we’re continuing our efforts to make a real difference for the 6.1 million UK households currently living in fuel poverty.
A huge thank you to our incredible apprentices for their passion and commitment to supporting this important cause. They’ll be lacing up their trainers and representing Smart DCC at two upcoming events:
9th August - Tatton Park 10K
Anees Tanweer, Emmanuel Amole, Emmanuel Jacob, and Mohammad Abid Ali
12th October - Manchester Half Marathon
Emmanuel Amole, Mohammad Abid Ali, and Sheikh Marghoob Ahmad
They’re training hard, giving their all, and raising awareness along the way - and now they need your support. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps National Energy Action continue its vital work to ensure everyone can live in a warm and safe home.
Please give what you can and share this page to help us hit (and hopefully smash!) our fundraising target.
Together, we can power a fairer, warmer future.
Our vision is to end fuel poverty.
We work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to ensure that everyone can afford to live in a warm, safe and healthy home.
As a result of the energy crisis, 6.1 million UK households are in fuel poverty. This means they spend at least 10% of their income on keeping their homes warm. Energy bills are twice as high as they were two years ago. Combined with poor housing and low incomes, this means that more people than ever before are struggling to afford the cost of heating and falling into debt.
We can live, but it’s just existing. The bills seem insurmountable.
Sky-high bills and cold, damp homes threaten to become the new normal for millions of people. We believe that this must not be allowed to happen. We offer advice and support to fuel-poor households in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as advocating for policy and regulation to protect the most vulnerable households. We also offer training to frontline staff of other organisations, to they can best support fuel-poor households.
He was genuinely moved by the kindness and generosity of NEA being able to put that credit on his account. I know he will be putting his heating on and keeping warmer because of what you did this afternoon.
