SMBC's fundraiser for MyBigCareer-World Food Day

Issac Patterson-Ramsey is raising money for MyBigCareer

World Food Day · 16 October 2025

We inspire, guide and equip underrepresented young people aged 11-18 to thrive in their future working world. 300 volunteers help us support 5,000 students from less advantaged backgrounds every year - building career awareness, offering 1:1 coaching and providing workplace exposure.

Story

In celebration of World Food Day, SMBC is proud to once again bring colleagues together to share and enjoy a vibrant mix of global cuisines and cultures. All funds raised during the event will support My Big Career, who we are proud to volunteer with, helping to make a meaningful impact in our community

They believe it is wrong that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds face more barriers to work and education. They believe no one should be hindered by how and where they grew up. Or by their ethnicity, gender or class.

At MyBigCareer, They are determined to break down barriers to social mobility and make a difference to young people from disadvantaged families' lives. They provide free one-to-one career guidance for 13-18 years olds, access to life changing work experiences events and one-to-one support on A Level results day. We are proud to have a number of colleagues volunteering their time to support their mission currently
