Hi Everyone,

We are SMBF, the Bristol-based community responsible for running fighting game tournaments every sunday for well over a decade. SMBF is a place for people in Bristol to find community, a place where they can be themselves unapolagetically and make friends that will last for years to come.

Unfortunately, in the past year, we at SMBF lost two members very dear to us; Iris Adams (SMBF| Seraph) and Marcus Ochai (SMBF| Marcus) to suicide. These two were our friends, our rivals and our loved ones, two who embodied the heart of SMBF and were a core part of what has made SMBF, and so many of our lives, so special.

The struggle with mental health is one that many of us face and is a battle that has claimed many loved ones far too soon and one that continues to press on so many of us.

So, to honour their memory, we at SMBF are hosting a special tournament. On 8.11.26 we will be running a special tournament, 2v2 Guilty Gear Strive, streamed on twitch.tv/sodiumshowdown, in order to fundraise for the mental health charity: Project Second Step

Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other problems and is a charity that helped me after the death of Iris.

This is a fundraiser to remember our loved ones, and help prevent this tragedy from striking again in the future and so any and all help is greatly appreciated <3
