Smithers of Stamford is honoured to support the War Widows. Fundraising has always been, and will continue to be, a crucial source of income for them, especially in these challenging times. Every £1 raised helps ensure we can continue providing vital comradeship and welfare support to the veteran's wife across England, Scotland, for the next hundred years.

My grandad was born in Stamford, Lincolnshire, and was a loyal member of the British Legion. From the day he joined, he never missed a meeting. He served as a tank driver in WWII and had many stories to tell, one of the most memorable being that he could fry an egg on his tank during his time in Egypt.
