I said after the Colchester half marathon that I wouldn’t do another one…. however, this one is really special to me. I am running this one on behalf of Alzheimer’s society and my grandad.

My grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the beginning of this year and I feel like my whole world shook when it became a diagnosed reality.

My grandad is the one person that has never passed judgement on me, always supported me in everything and always listened whole heartedly when I needed a chat growing up. He’s always said if he ever got Alzheimer’s his world would fall apart and at times I can see that in him.

To watch him deteriorate & become an outer shell of himself is heartbreaking which is why I’ve decided to choose this charity.

Even if you don’t have anyone will Alzheimer’s that you cherish imagine waking up and not knowing what day of the week it is, not knowing where you put those apples unpacking the shopping, getting to the shop and forgetting where you even are.

If you can spare anything to give to this charity me and my grandad would really appreciate it.
