AUTISM is a word many people have heard about, many people know someone with Autism

In the early years when you suspect your child has Autism where do you turn too ?

Suspecting your child has Autism at an early age can be very lonely.

You raise your concerns to your GP who refers you to a specialist, but you will be on a 3 year waiting list before a professional will see your child and diagnose.

In the meantime you try to access speech’s and language therapy to help with your child’s communication difficulties , but that will be another 2 year waiting list to see a therapist

Maybe school can help ? But your child is under 5 and hasn’t started school yet !

Family and friends find it difficult to look after your child because they can’t meet their needs , so then you can not continue with your career or socialise due to childcare.

So who helps families in the grey area of endless waiting lists , when their concerns about their child is not being heard and they don’t know where to turn to ?

This fabulous charity helps families with children in the early years who have Autism

Trained volunteers support families by providing a weekly one to one home visiting service and a wide range of targeted support for parents and their children. Families engaging with the charity home start are able to manage the difficult time they are in and have happy outcomes, with thriving children.

Home start are making a huge difference to families not only those with Autism but also families with domestic violence , mental health issues , twins and triplets , those with money worries and a lot more !!

Please help us reach our target by donating which will help provide funds for families in the Rochdale and Bury area who are accessing home start services.
