Story

Eh up! How's tricks?

All very last minute.... Who knew, this ADHD head of mine would say 'yes' to anything. As an aside, the images in this page were created whilst staying in Capel Curig last year and are a view towards Snowden, or "Yr Wyddfa", to give her her Welsh name.

I write this on the morning of Friday 16th May, 2025.

Short Version

If you don't fancy reading any further, here’s a short version…

I need your help to come good on a commitment to raise a bunch of funds for a charity I work closely with, The Whitechapel Centre. They do incredible work supporting families and individuals alike who face homelessness.

Please donate

If you can, please dig deep, or find whatever loose change you can down the back of the sofa, and help me come good on my (slightly bonkers) commitment to them that I can raise a decent chunk of money in one day.

The detail...

I work with the Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool - an amazing charity overflowing with awesome people who support the needs of the homeless in Liverpool. This year marks their 50th year of being in existence. Half a century of supporting those in our community who most need help. I’m creating images for them chowing the work they do within the community and on the front line. Working with children, with families as well as with those who find themselves on the street, sleeping rough. They are a huge success story with the transformative work they do for both individuals and families.

Last week, during thw course of a meeting, the fabulous Toni-Marie (she is organising this walk) said that a last minute spot on their "Snowden at Sunrise" walk had become available. Obviously I said "I'll do that". That walk is tonight.

I don't think I've ever been less fit or less in shape than I am at the moment. But I’m not in the middle of an arthritis flare up so I am able to walk more at the moment. (The old knees can’t get me up off the floor but as long as I don’t sit down I’ll be good, right?). And it's a supported walk. I reckon that includes a carry if I need one…

We set off at 1 am on Saturday 17th (in around 18 hours) and I'm lugging up some camera kit with the intention of capturing some stunning sunrise shots. Watch this space for that...

Give what you can. Please. I know times are tough at the moment, money is tight. It’s proper crap, Isn’t it. But some people are having it especially tough. Homelessness affects many, many people from many different backgrounds. The Whitechapel Centre is a tremendous force doing tremendous good and they do need our help. And I’ve bloody told them I’m going raise a ton of cash so I need you help 😂

Even the smallest donation will make a difference. If you are able to, go big (really big if possible!), and help me reach my rather ambitious goal!

Cheers!

Si
