Story
On 3rd October, my sisters Christine, Chloe and I will be climbing Snowdon at night to raise money for LOROS Hospice, where my husband Dan was cared for in the days before he passed away.
The care he received there was truly incredible — he was treated with such kindness, respect and dignity, and the support they gave to our family meant so much during such a difficult time.
It sadly took two days for a bed to become available, which was an incredibly stressful experience for our family, and it really highlighted how much hospices like LOROS need and rely on funding to continue providing their vital services.
By taking on this challenge in Dan’s memory, we hope to support other families who may find themselves in a devastatingly similar position, and help ensure that no one has to wait for the care they need at such a crucial time.
Climbing Snowdon also holds special meaning for me, as Dan and I did it together in 2019 — it was a day full of challenge, laughter and conversations that we had never had before in our many years together, it is a memory I will treasure forever.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us and will help LOROS continue to provide such vital care and support to families when they need it most. Thank you so much for your support.
