Scotland stands with Ukraine! Help us send a humanitarian aid convoy to Ukraine

SNP Ukraine Solidarity Caucus is raising money for Sunflower Scotland
Our mission is to help the most vulnerable people in Ukraine's frontline villages. Women, children, disabled and older people need our help more than anyone else. We buy food in Ukraine, rather than sending it from the UK. This way we support the local economy. We have a permanent team in Kharkiv, and we cover areas near the north-eastern front.

Story

The SNP Ukraine Solidarity Caucus have partnered with Sunflower Scotland to deliver a humanitarian aid convoy to the frontlines of Ukraine. We are a group of SNP activists committed to our solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they defend their homeland against unprovoked Russian aggression.

We have partnered with Sunflower Scotland (SCIO SC052092), an Edinburgh based charity that raises funds and delivers aid to where its needed most on the front lines. Many civilians are still trapped in these hot zones, including many elderly and children. Hospitals and aid stations are in dire need of supplies, with Russian kamikaze drones regularly targeting ambulances and supply warehouses. Sunflower helps by supplying frontline medics with first aid supplies and reliable 4x4 vehicles, so that they can stabilise and evacuate the sick and injured to safety.

Away from the frontline, the need is still severe. Russian attacks against Ukraine's energy infrastructure has lead to rolling blackouts across the country, leaving schools, hospitals and home dependant on portable generators.

We in the SNP Ukraine Solidarity Caucus want to do our part to help. It is our aim to raise money for an evacuation vehicle, and join Sunflower on one of their convoys to deliver this to Ukraine ourselves. To do this we'll need to raise £5000 to purchase a vehicle, prepare it for frontline duty, acquire the correct paperwork, and drive it to Lviv. All money raised will go directly to Sunflower Scotland, and any amount is appreciated. For a better understanding of how your money can be used, and the things we can achieve together, see the milestones below:

£500 EcoFlow generator

£750 cost of an ambulance stretcher

£1,000 cost of preparing a vehicle (tyres/ service/ repairs etc)

£2,000-£2,500 Cost of a 4x4

£3,500- £4000 Purchase of a car and the cost of taking it to Ukraine

£5,000-£5,500 entire trip paid for including purchasing vehicle, prep, customs declarations and the trip itself

As Scots, we stand with Ukraine as a nation fighting for its right to exist as a sovereign, independent state, free from Russia's colonial rule. As Scots, as Europeans, as freedom-loving people, let's do our part to help.
