Someone’s got to sail around the Greek islands… 🤣

This September, from 12th–30th September, I’ll be sailing around the beautiful Greek islands with Sailing Holidays — and I’m turning the adventure into a little fundraising challenge for Social Progress to support Ruddi’s Retreat’s Go Gold 2026 campaign.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and to support Ruddi's Retreat and this important initiative I’m hoping to raise £500 to support the amazing work Ruddi’s Retreat does for families affected by childhood cancer - www.ruddisretreat.org

For me when growing up, family time was everything. I have a big family and was lucky enough to have very loving parents who saw that time together as the thing that grounds us and gave us a place to be ourselves. We didn't have much money and Mum and Dad worked all hours to make sure we had a stable and happy childhood.

But I'm aware this isn't the case for so many other people who have challenges thrown at them in the way of illness, bereavement, and a whole host of other things.

This is why Ruddi's Retreat 💚🌻is so important to me. They offer respite care for families in need of a well deserved break from all that's going on around them. With five seaside holiday homes in the UK a family can book a week to relax, recharge and just get away from all the daily toils.

It costs around £300 per week for a family to be able to have that well deserved time out and as we all know money is tight for everyone right now.

However here’s where YOU come in 👉: Please sponsor me and add your guess of the total number of nautical sailing miles we’ll clock from the start of the trip on 12th September to the finish on 30th September in the comment box when sponsoring. ⛵🌊
