Story
Next year, I’ll be running the London Marathon in support of Huntington’s disease research and support.
Running has become something that helps me clear my mind and pushes me to be the best version of myself. Taking on the London Marathon feels like the perfect way to combine my passion with a cause that means more to me than words can express.
I’m running in honour of my incredible mum, who is living with Huntington’s disease. She is, without question, my biggest inspiration and my hero. Despite everything this disease has thrown at her, she continues to show remarkable strength, courage, and resilience every single day. Watching her face life’s challenges with such determination has inspired me more than she’ll ever know.
Huntington’s disease has affected not only my mum but also generations of my family. It is a cruel, inherited condition that slowly damages the brain, affecting movement, thinking, and emotions. Over time, people living with Huntington’s can lose their independence, while their families and loved ones face the emotional and physical challenges that come with caring for them. It impacts every aspect of family life, and no one should have to face it alone.
By running the London Marathon, I hope to raise vital funds for Huntington’s charities that provide support for families, fund groundbreaking research, and work towards finding better treatments and one day, a cure.
Every mile I run will be for my mum. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help make a difference to families living with this devastating disease.
If you’re able to support me, I would be so grateful. If you can’t donate, simply sharing my page would mean the world to me.
This marathon is for my mum, my family and for every family affected by Huntington’s disease.
