Story
Hi, I’m Sofia and I am 3 years old 😊
When I was a tiny baby, I was very poorly. I have a condition called biliary atresia, which affects about 1 in 18,000 newborn babies and means my liver didn’t work properly. I was only 8 weeks old when doctors found out what was wrong, and when I was 9 months old (in July 2023), my daddy gave me a very special gift — part of his liver — which saved my life.

Life after my transplant can still be a little bit scary sometimes. I have to see lots of doctors for check-ups, get poked with spiky needles, and take lots of medicine every day to keep my liver happy.
Now I am a happy, busy little girl who loves to play, laugh, and learn new things. In August, I’m hoping to go to the Transplant Games — a very special event where children like me who have had transplants can meet, have fun, and celebrate how strong we are.

To help make this happen, I’m raising money and also supporting King’s College Hospital Charity, who help children like me get the care we need.
Thank you so much for reading my story and for any support you can give — it really means the world to me 💛
