Story
The University of Reading Softball Club are organising a charity 5-a-side football tournament to raise money for Maisie Moo’s Mission. Teams of students will compete in a friendly tournament, with all entry fees and donations going directly to the charity.
Any donation, big or small, will help support the charity’s work and raise awareness of the importance of organ and blood donation. Thank you for supporting such an important cause.
About the charity below:
In September 2024, Maisie developed acute liver failure and urgently needed a liver transplant. On 1 October 2024 a suitable donor was found, but her condition continued to deteriorate throughout the day. On the 2nd of October she sadly passed away before she was strong enough to undergo the operation. She was just 14 years old.
The charity works to raise awareness of the urgent need for blood and organ donors in the UK, encouraging more people to register and potentially save lives. It also aims to support young people by providing opportunities, resources and community support to help them thrive.
