The Three Peaks Challenge - Climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon, in 24 hours! · 20 June 2023

Our vision is a world where young people have the opportunity to fulfil their potential. We use sport as a catalyst to enable young people to be healthier, more confident and more resilient, so they are better prepared to combat the effects of poverty, trauma and adversity.

Story

What's Sol 172?

Our names are Ross and Sean. We're a pair of friends that bonded through a love of exercise, and both have a deep respect for the life lessons that sport and exercise bring. We wanted to craft a tradition that would keep our minds on staying fit as the demands of life grew bigger and bolder...

That tradition is Sol 172. It's a gruelling physical effort, just once a year, to raise money for a chosen charity, and celebrate the Summer Solstice with all the strength it brings!

This year, we're taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge - peaking Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdonia in 24 hours...that's the highest peak in Scotland, England, then Wales, and travelling between them, all in a single day. With just over 3400 meters to climb, we anticipate it'll take about 12 hours of hiking and 12 hours of travel! We'll begin our climb early on June 20th, and aim to see the sun rise on the Solstice from the peak of Snowdonia, early on June 21st.

We're raising money for Scottish Sports Futures because for us, exercise was survival...we think everyone should have the opportunities we did.

Please give generously, and if you can't, share our link!
