Take two...
Last year, I was due to undertake this challenge alongside my best friend Em, but sadly in a twist of events, 2 days prior to the event I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and was advised I was not fit to take part.
This year though, I'm back and able to take on the gruelling challenge in June, of walking The Lake District Ultra Challenge (100km) all in under 48 hours.
This time, Becks, Hayley, Liz, Kirsty & Al have all decided to join me.
Please donate whatever you can to support us and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, specifically Professor Susana Banerjee and the Ovarian Cancer Department.

In January 2025, our world was shattered and heaven gained an angel in my Mummy/Jasmin.
Mummy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in February 2020 and given a grim prognosis of 3-6 months without treatment, and 1-2 years with. The odds were overwhelmingly against her. Yet, anyone who knew Jasmin Banks-Lyon knew she was not one to succumb to the norm.
The aggressive nature of the cancer was matched only by the brutality of the chemotherapy. Throughout her battle, Mummy endured three gruelling cycles of chemotherapy, major abdominal surgery, multiple lung drains, a cocktail of various drugs, and numerous blood transfusions, all under the care of the Royal Marsden in London. There were times when she spent more days in the hospital than at home.
Mummy fought a valiant 5 year battle with bravery, grace, optimism and style. Yet, in the end, cancer claimed her life, taking away my Mummy, our beloved Diddy, and my Daddy’s wife of 42 years. I am certain that without the state-of-the-art technology and pioneering treatments provided by the Royal Marsden, we would have lost her even sooner.
While nothing can bring her back, the least I can do is raise awareness and funds to support research, trials, and technology that will help others in the future.
