SOMPO are taking on the UK Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for their chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

In May 2024 a team of 12 staff members will be attempting to complete the safe ascent and descents of the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland, whilst remaining inside a 24 hour time limit, covering more than a marathon distance on the rocky and mountainous terrain.

The clock will start as they set off at the base of their first mountain, and will stop once they're back at the base of their final mountain. In 2022, the team took just over 29 hours (hampered by traffic and stopovers!) but for the team in 2024, (the stars may have aligned!) the seemingly elusive 24 hours remains the target.
