Story
I am taking a sabbatical month in April with the aim to volunteer and contribute to charity. One of my activities is a challenging 4-day hike on the Offa's Dyke Trail along the Welsh/English border, and I hope you can help make it more meaningful! 😊
I am a proud stepmum to a transgender girl and an ally to all people marginalised simply because of who they are. The world is seemingly taking a U-turn away from all the progress it's done in past decades, but we need to keep going forward towards human rights and respect amongst all human beings.
I've chosen Mermaids as my charity, because being 'different' can be scary at the best of times, and these are not. Kids and young people need love and acceptance, without it being earned or conditional.
Mermaids is a UK charity working to support transgender, non-binary and gender diverse children, young people and their families. Mermaids' vision is a safe, inclusive society where trans children and young people are empowered to live their best lives.
Thank you so much for any donation, big or small!
Lots of love,
Sonia
