Story
It is with the heaviest heart, that I have decided to Fundraise for Talk Club in memory of my younger brother Danian Lowe Aged 50. Dane was the sweetest, kindest man, he was charismatic, charming and incredibly funny, everyone that knew him just absolutely loved him! He was an adored Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, Nephew and Friend to many many people.
In 2009 Dane attempted Suicide a total of three times, almost succeeding on the 3rd. There has always been a worry that he may try again, he assured us all that he would not. He fought that thought for over 16 years! We all tried so hard to convince him to stay, to make him realise he had more to stay for than to leave, that the world was a brighter, happier place with Dane in it! If only Dane had seen in himself what we all saw in him. I loved his company, his silliness, his cheekiness (which at times drove me mad). I never envisaged a world without him in it and I still can not now!
In January 2025, with no warning, Dane took his own life. Our lives will NEVER be the same. I wish with every fibre of my being that I could have made him stay. We are heartbroken and our lives are shattered.
So this Skydive is in Dane's memory. To maybe help at least one person come back from the edge. To help at least one family keep someone they so dearly love, and maybe while I am up there I can tell him it's not so bad down there Dane, come back with me.
Dane would think this was hilarious! He would say "Noo you are 54 years old and you hate heights, what are you thinking"?
I am thinking of you Dane, ALWAYS, I always have and I always Will. I miss you so much. I loved you so much!
Talk Club is a UK male mental health charity. In the UK, 76% of suicides are male. Talk Club seeks to change these appalling statistics through a community of peer-to-peer talk and listening or exercising, and therapy groups to drive change in how men connect.
By donating to my fundraiser you're helping Talk Club to grow Talk & Listen, Talk & Exercise, and Talk Club Therapy groups. These groups are safe and confidential spaces to encourage more men to open up and take charge of their mental health. This, in turn, saves lives.
Thank you!
