My son, Lucas, is running a marathon to raise funds. This awful disease has a direct impact on our family in the form of Fatal Familial Insomnia and ,although we are still processing the news, valuable but very costly work is going on in the form of trials for a cure which looks promising. At present there is NO CURE and the disease is ALWAYS FATAL. We are desperately hoping this possible cure will be available to help any members of our family who may be found to have the rogue prion responsible. Please support the cause financially as it is the only way in which we can support them for now and I can’t stress how important this is. The disease is not very well known so financial support is hard to come by !

Support us to find a cure for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). There is currently no cure but every day scientists and doctors are getting closer to finding a treatment. We aim to raise funds to support the use of an antibody drug developed for the treatment of patients with CJD. The first patient was treated at UCLH in October 2018.
