I am going to be skydiving to raise funds for The National Deaf Children's Society.

When Esmee was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss in 2017, as a family we felt very isolated and feared for Esmee's future. We stumbled across the NDCS shortly after her diagnosis and their help has been invaluable.

They assisted me with the mounds of paperwork that comes with having a child with a disability, they have funded group activities for Esmee such as playing drums in a rock band and Brownies, but more importantly they have put Esmee in touch with other deaf children. When Esmee is within her community it reminds her that deafness doesn't have to be isolating as it can often appear and her confidence with using her hearings aids and other equipment has soared from this.

Finally, they funded my BSL level 1 course as they believe that communicating with your child should not come with a price tag.
