Story

Sonya (our Mom) was a wonderful mother, who loved all children - not just us!

Mom was a paediatric nurse who cared deeply for all of the children in her care, and in the past she spent time volunteering in Romanian orphanages and helping seriously ill children and their families at Barretstown.

Mom also worked tirelessly to champion improved supports and services for people affected by metastatic breast cancer and she was the Irish Cancer Society's first ever Public & Patient Involvement Champion of the Year in 2022.

We are so very proud of our Mom.

We are hoping to raise the first 25K of the 100K + it will cost to for Assist RR UK and IMHO USA to build a paediatric ward in Sri Lanka, in memory of our Mom and we are hoping that you will help us.

100% of all funds donated will go directly to the project as both charities are NGO's staffed by volunteers and some of our family have worked closely with them for many years.

Please sponsor us as we take on the 25KM challenge around central London on October 28th. https://www.ultrachallenge.com/halloween-walk/

Mom passed away in Marymount University Hospital and Hospice, Cork on August 13th 2023 and we want to be build something special in her memory to make her and lots of children happy.

Thank you.

Alex, Isabel and Isaac Lynch x

RCN 1151025
Assist Resettlement & Renaissance (Assist RR) has been formed to relieve poverty of innocent victims of war in Sri Lanka by improving their livelihood. They were originally displaced during the final phase of the civil war and spent a number of years in various refugee camps / welfare centers. They have been facing extreme hardship after they were resettled in their villages. People were being housed in temporary shelters without water and toilet facilities and are living on rare hand-outs without any work or job opportunities.
