Story
After seeing the success of my colleagues and fundraisers in the 2026 China Trek, and hearing their stories of the experience, I have decided to take on the challenge in 2027. The solidarity, compassion and teamwork shown by the trekkers was incredibly inspiring and it reminded me of our core ethos at the Hospice, in giving the same compassion and empathy to those who need it most.
I am taking on the Great Wall of China in memory of a dear family member - Auntie Kate - and a close family friend - Susie - who both experienced cancer in their last stages of life. I am putting my anxieties and limiting beliefs about my health and capabilities aside, and taking on the challenging trek for those facing cancer and life limiting illness, as they are undertaking their own personal, scary, challenges everyday.
Our ambition at Highland Hospice is to ensure that everyone in the Highlands faced with death, dying or bereavement has access to the best palliative and end-of-life care – the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
