Story
Cerebral Palsy United FC is an inclusive and family friendly football club for people living with Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury, delivering social interaction and participation in team sport for all ages and abilities.
Sophia & Nancy’s friendship blossomed at Cerebral Palsy United (CP United) and every month the girls are eager to put on their red football tops and go to their local football club. Since they’ve attended, their confidence and physical abilities have improved so much. As well as meeting up with their friends, who have the same condition as them, Sophia & Nancy have developed strong relationships with Michelle and Olly who run the local sessions.
We (Louise & Bridget) were shocked and concerned to learn the news about the current state the charity sector is under. We have seen the positive impact that CP United has had on our daughters and because of this, we want to give CP United the best chance to remain resilient. We feel extremely lucky that there is a local provision for our daughters which focuses primarily on their specific needs without having to travel long distances. This is a charity that we want to help for the sake of our daughters and the many other children and young adults across the country.
To raise money for this charity, we would like to do a challenge that is achievable yet physically demanding for our daughters needs. On the weekend of the 11th April, we will be walking up Hallin Fell without physical aid. This will be huge for our girls and we hope you can all get behind us.
Please sponsor our challenge to keep their much loved, monthly football sessions going, for years to come.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Love,
Bridget & Louise xx
