Story
Running for My Granny, Sandra Hurlin
This April 7th, 2024, I will be lacing up my running shoes for my very first marathon, on the streets of Paris. This isn’t just any race; it’s a deeply personal journey. I am running in honour of my beloved granny, Sandra Hurlin, who is living with Alzheimer's disease.
My journey to the starting line is fuelled by love, determination, and the legacy of my grandad, Tony Hurlin. A seasoned long-distance runner himself, Tony has been my guiding light, training me every step of the way. Together, we’re not just preparing for a marathon; we’re fighting for a future where Alzheimer’s no longer devastates lives.
Why Alzheimer’s UK?
Alzheimer's Society embodies hope and help for those affected by dementia. With an estimated 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia, many undiagnosed and alone, the need for support is immense. By fundraising for Alzheimer's UK, I aim to contribute to their vital work in providing care, driving research, and advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Your Support Makes a Difference
Every stride I take through Paris will be for my Granny and the countless others facing the challenges of dementia. Your donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer's. It funds crucial support services and groundbreaking research, offering hope to families like mine.
How You Can Help ?
Please consider making a contribution to this cause that’s so close to my heart. Every donation, big or small, makes a tangible difference. And if you can, please add Gift Aid to amplify your impact.
Join me in this race against Alzheimer’s. Together, we can bring light to the lives darkened by dementia.
