Running to support Scope

I am running the London Marathon to support the charity Scope. Scope is dedicated to ensuring that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.

Why Scope?

Scope supports individuals with a diverse range of disabilities and their families. This encompasses physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and spinal cord injuries, as well as learning disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia and dyspraxia. The charity also addresses sensory impairments, including visual impairments and deafness, mental health conditions such as depression and challenges related to death by suicide, neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's and epilepsy, and long-term health conditions such as diabetes that significantly affect daily life. By promoting equality and inclusion, Scope provides various services—including advice, support groups and advocacy—to help individuals with disabilities live more independently and confidently.

In the UK there are 16 million disabled people—about one in four of us. Disabled individuals are twice as likely to be unemployed and face an average additional cost of living of over £1,000 each month. Scope is committed to creating a world where these inequities no longer exist, ensuring that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. Personally, my experiences with dyslexia and dyspraxia have made me acutely aware of the challenges faced by those with learning disabilities, further motivating my support for Scope’s mission.

London Marathon Raffle fundraising for Scope!

I am holding a raffle to help fundraise for the charity Scope.
