On 17th December 2025, my amazing boyfriend, Sami, was diagnosed with an advanced and rare type of germ cell cancer called a non-seminomatous germ cell tumour.

I’ve never met someone as strong-minded and determined as Sami, and his strength throughout this life-altering time has been nothing short of admirable. Watching him face something so difficult with such courage has changed my perspective on what it truly means to be strong. I’ve decided to run the London Marathon 2027 to honour some of that strength and to give back for my boy.

I’ve chosen to run for The Institute of Cancer Research because I believe the work they do is incredibly important. Their research is helping to improve our understanding of cancer, develop new treatments and give people like Sami hope for the future.

This marathon will undoubtedly be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but every difficult mile will be a reminder of why I’m doing it. I’ll be running for Sami, for everyone affected by cancer, and for the hope that one day fewer people and their families will have to go through what we have.
