Project Play: Uganda 2025 - 2 Weeks · 16 June 2025 to 1 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Play Action International works across the world to help refugee s and other vulnerable children to learn, develop and heal through the power of play.

Story

This summer, myself and a team of dedicated volunteers are heading to Uganda for two weeks to help transform a school field into a lively playground that all the school children will enjoy!

Research has shown that incorporating play into learning can increase a pupil's school attendance by 98%. Additionally, teachers also see the difference. They note that access to playgrounds and playing programmes in general can increase a pupil's attention and behaviour in class by 83%.

Having lived some time in Africa myself, I am familiar with the school system there. I remember being in class and struggling to learn various materials, as the methods of teaching were often bland and lacking in creativity. Because of this, I am determined to improve school life for young children, in order to enhance their opportunities later in life.

Your donations today will mean that you can be part of this amazing opportunity to improve the lives of disadvantaged children through the implementation of play into their learning. You will be part of a huge community dedicated to close the gap on educational inequalities, and myself and the Play International team are so incredibly grateful for your support!
