Story
This May, I’ll be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon in memory of my auntie, Naomi Bovey, who many knew and loved as Nim.
Nim lost her battle to mental health in May 2024. She was someone who carried a smile wherever she went and was always full of life, even during the times when she was quietly struggling. She had a warmth that made people feel welcome, seen, and safe.
One of the places closest to Nim’s heart was Windmill Hill City Farm in Bristol. She absolutely loved the days she spent volunteering there. The farm gave her purpose, connection, and moments of peace, a place where she could breathe, belong, be surrounded by amazing and lovely people and simply be herself. It meant the world to her.
So this year, I’ll be running 13.1 miles in Nim’s honour. For her life, her kindness, and the love she gave so freely, and to raise money for a place that brought her genuine joy. Every donation will help Windmill Hill City Farm continue the incredible work they do supporting community, wellbeing, and connection.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help them continue this incredible work.
This run is for Nim.
For her smile.
For her kindness.
For the love she gave to so many.
And for everyone who is still fighting battles we cannot always see.
