On Friday 24 July 2026, myself and my colleague will be taking on a 12,000ft skydive in Headcorn to raise funds for Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

I absolutely hate heights, so this will definitely be pushing me well outside my comfort zone… but it is for a cause that means so much to me.

I’m aiming to raise £1,000 to help give amazing children the best possible start in life. Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity currently supports over 100 children and families across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire and South London, and as we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are aiming to reach an additional 25 children and families with our life-changing support.

Those who know me well will know my background with Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the very personal connection I have with the children and families at Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity. To be able to support them in this way means everything to me.

Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity supports under 5s with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments, helping them make the best possible start in life. Through hands-on one-to-one and small group sessions, children and parents work together in a supportive environment to develop physical, social and emotional skills, while giving families the tools and confidence to continue that development at home.

We celebrate every child we work with, no matter their ability, and help show parents, families and the wider world everything they can do.
