Sophie's fundraiser for Battle Scars

Sophie Brown is raising money for Battle Scars

Great North Run 2026 · 13 September 2026 ·

Our vision is to make sure nobody who struggles with self-harm, in whichever form, fights alone, and to break down the stigma surrounding self-harm. Our definition of self-harm is broad: any harm done to the body or mind, external or internal, with short or long-term effect.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year, I’m taking on the incredible Great North Run!💛 This will be the second time doing the GNR, my last was 10 years ago.

I’m running to raise money for Battle Scars (Leeds) — a charity that provides vital support for people who self-harm. Their work is so important, offering understanding, community, and a safe space for those who need it most. I found them in July 2023, and since then they’ve been there through it all. I couldn’t be more grateful which is why I’ve chosen them as my charity.

If you can, please consider donating, it all means more than you know.

I’ve been documenting my progress on a Instagram account called @movetobeok. So feel free to follow along if you’d like to see how I get on.

❤️🏃‍♀️💛
