Story
Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis at age 30 was such a shock to me, my family and loved ones. Everything happened so quickly and it was completely overwhelming. I learned everything that I now know about cancer and chemotherapy in a matter of weeks. I’m so grateful to the NHS Doctors and nurses that have shown me nothing but kindness since the day of my diagnosis. The most daunting thing I learned about the chemotherapy drugs used to treat my cancer is that they would also rid me of my beautiful long (Elsa) hair. This was really hard to come to terms with until I read about The Little Princess Trust. This helped me to understand that not only am I not alone in my diagnosis, but that there are little girls strong and brave enough to go through it too. I didn’t doubt for another second whether I should donate my hair to such a beautiful cause. I had 14 inches of my hair cut off the very next day. The thought alone of my treasured hair being made into a wig to help a Little Princess feel beautiful in her darkest time, has been the help I needed to get over my own hair loss. It costs The little Princess Fund approximately £700 to make their natural hair wigs. Your donation big or small will help to go a long way towards making a girl feel happiness during a time she thought there wasn’t any. Thank you ♡
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
