Hi, my name is Sophie! I have decided to run the York 10k on the 3rd of August in memory of my Dad, Philip Curtis, who died very suddenly 12 years ago, in 2013, when I was 3 and my two older brothers were just 6 and 12.

My Dad always loved running in his spare time, which is part of the reason I started running - to continue his legacy.

I have decided to raise money for a small local charity, Bereaved Children Support York, who have helped my family and many others over the past 9 years since it was founded by the amazing Jo Cole.

I hope so much to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity as they truly deserve it. I also hope to make my family, friends and most importantly my Dad proud as I know he will be watching over me and cheering me on during my run.
