In memory of Louise Fletcher

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Garden House Hospice Care offers care and support to patients and their families. As a registered charity the hospice is dependent on donations so hospice care can be offered through in-patient admissions, day hospice, hospice at home, out-patients clinics and the family support team.

Story

I am absolutely ecstatic to have been given the Garden House Hospices charity place for the 2025 London Marathon.

Those who know me will know I’ve always wanted to run the London Marathon and after entering the ballot for many years I have never been lucky enough to secure a place.

This year I saw the GHH advertising a space to run for them, I sent in my application and I GOT THE ONLY PLACE!

There is absolutely no other charity in the world I would rather raise money for. Having previously raised money for the GHH over the last 23 years this is my next challenge and I’m determine to nail it.

My beautiful mum Louise Fletcher, passed away in 2001 to stomach cancer. She spent her last few days receiving phenomenal end of life care at the GHH. Myself, Dad, Carla and the rest of my family will be forever grateful for everything the hospice did for us and mum.

On that note.. It’s time to lace up my trainers and dig deep for probably one of my toughest challenges yet.

I am ready to make mum, my family and of course the garden house hospice proud.

Garden House Hospice Care provides specialist palliative care for patients, families and carers facing life limiting illnesses, to enable them to have the best possible quality of life by providing care and support in the setting of their choice, without discrimination.
