Story
In April 2026, Sam and I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to help raise funds for this amazing charity who do such important work supporting a very dear friend, Rachel and her amazing daughter, Jessie. I wanted to share their story with you...............
'Jessie was 10 months old when she had her first seizure and was formally diagnosed at 4 years old. At this time, Dravet Syndrome UK didn't exist and it was such a scary and traumatic time. Having a child with Dravet Syndrome is like having a ticking time bomb with you all the time, never knowing when a seizure might come, it if will stop or even when they will survive it, alongside other things that come with it - autism, tube feeding and mobility issues to name a few.
Dravet Syndrome UK as it is now has been a life line for us as a family. We get support, guidance and meet families in the same boat as us. As well as that they are doing great things in research to make this devastating life limiting condition more known.
I am so grateful to Sophie for choosing to support DSUK and every penny raised will benefit so many families just like ours in so many ways. Thank you for all your support ...Rachel and Jessie xxx
