Supporting Wrexham Maelor Hospital Shooting Star Unit by directly funding vital equipment to optimise treatment delivery and the patient pathway. We fund equipment that are difficult for the NHS to provide and which allow optimisation of the journey for the patient through diagnosis and treatment.

Story

A small group of crazy ladies from North Wales (and a couple from Brum!) have decided to take an icy plunge in Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) in aid of raising money for Shooting Star Cancer Support. One of those crazy ladies (Eleri Wood) is fighting cancer right now and with the help of the staff at Wrexham Shooting Star Cancer ward, she is sailing through treatment like an absolute trooper. We are all very nervous as the lake is set to be pretty damn cold at the end of January….. but Eleri has been taking ice cold plunges in a tub every day at home to aid her recovery and frankly we couldn’t think of a better way to support her than to get our swimming costumes on and brave a winter swim. Please support our efforts so that we can send a donation to Shooting Star Cancer Support, to thank them for all they do. It would mean the world to us, but most of all to Eleri.

Diolch yn fawr - Eleri Wood, Elain Boyns, Kim Edwards, Elliw Angharad, Sophie Jones, Emily Fernandez xxxxxxx
