Story
I am running this years London Marathon and it’s gruelling 26.2 mile course in April, to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House UK, which is a charity hugely close to my family. This is the story of my beautiful, strong and brave dear little niece, Millie. Here is her story written by her Mummy and Daddy…
“Millie was born in September 2021 with congenital heart disease. She’s had multiple open heart surgeries and now has a pacemaker & a mechanical valve.
Her heart is still in a poor condition, but with the amazing Doctors, surgeons, nurses & team at Southampton General, our sweet girl is able to fight on!
Throughout the past 3 years, Ronald McDonald house has been invaluable to our family. We have been incredibly lucky to have a place to stay so we can be close to Millie whilst being in hospital.
She has been through so much in her little life, and knowing Ronald McDonald House is there if we need it in the future, is a huge comfort”.

Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children having treatment in hospital.
Their houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.
We help over 6,000 families each year and now, more than ever, we need your support. Thank you.
