Story
I’m taking on 75 miles this September for Bliss, the UK’s leading charity supporting babies born premature or sick.
Did you know that 1 in every 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist care? For us, that statistic became a reality. On 17th April, Sam and I welcomed our little boy Zach into the world, 7 weeks early and weighing just over 2 pounds.
A determined little fighter, Zach spent 4 weeks in NICU at Guy’s & St Thomas’s and Frimley Park. Even though we knew neonatal care was likely, nothing could prepare us for the overwhelming daily uncertainty, the constant beeping monitors, and the flood of information to take in.
Charities like Bliss are vital. They give vulnerable babies the fighting chance they deserve, and provide comfort and support to families navigating the hardest of times.
Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 90,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.
Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
