We’re taking on the Liverpool Half Marathon on Mother’s Day, March 15th, running together in memory of two very special people we have lost to cancer.

We recently took up running together and quickly found a real love for it. What started as something new for us has turned into a way to support each other, spend time together, and now, take on this challenge for two people who mean the world to us.

This run is in loving memory of Sophie’s Mum, Julie, who sadly passed away from cervical cancer in 2019. She is missed every single day. Mum showed incredible strength and courage through everything she went through, and running this half marathon is my way of honouring her, remembering her, and keeping her close with me every step, especially on Mother’s Day.

We’re also running in memory of Molly’s Grampy, who passed away last year after a short battle with bowel cancer. He would have been turning 80 this January. He was an amazing man who meant so much to his family, and although he would probably think we’re a bit crazy for doing this, this run is our way of celebrating his life and honouring his memory.

We’re running in support of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, whose work helps support patients and families through cancer treatment. The care, support, and compassion they provide makes such a difference to so many people facing incredibly difficult times.

Any donation, big or small, will help them continue their vital work and means more to us than we can put into words.

Every mile, every step, is for Mum and Grampy.
