Back in April 2023 our wonderful Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer with bone metastases. This news came completely out of the blue and sent the whole family into shock. The last 9 months have been difficult all round; hospital stays, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone treatment and a big operation, but Dad is currently doing really well.

We reached out to Macmillan and their team of nurses from the outset whilst we waited for the initial test results to know the extent of the news we had just been given. They provided the help, care and support we all needed at that time, and continue to need now.

Lucy, Tom and Sophie are running the Birmingham Half Marathon on 5th May 2024 to raise money for Macmillan, for the support they give not only to a person with cancer, but their friends and families too. There will also be some special running and supporting guests on the day to help our campaign and a team of people that are helping with training runs.

Training has started and we’ll post regular updates to let you know how we’re getting on.
