Myself and Lorren Sweeney will be doing a sponsored skydive with Skyline Skydiving in June 2024.
All the funds we raise from this will be going to the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Charity.
'Established in 1995 to support the work of Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and we have raised millions of pounds to make a difference to the lives of people living with heart and lung disease. We provide funds so that our dedicated medical staff can have the latest and best equipment to treat our patients. We support the provision of additional facilities for our patients and their families - such as family rooms and gardens. We assist with the funding of some of the ground breaking and life changing research that happens at LHCH.'
As some of you may know, back in June 2023 I was diagnosed with having a carcinoid tumour on my left lung. The news was shocking and unexpected however the care and reassurance I received from the NHS made the whole experience a little easier.
I was referred to Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital once I knew that I would need surgery to remove the tumour. From my first pre-operative appointment to my 5 night stay in the ward in September - the support I received from all of the staff there was second to none and I will be forever grateful.
The care they provide does however come at a financial cost so it's extremely important for them to receive funding in order to carry out the amazing care they do provide.
I am extremely fortunate to have been now been given the all clear so I thought I could show my gratitude by myself and Lorren jumping out of a plane at 11,000ft!
