Story
Movement is one of the most important things anyone diagnosed with cancer can do to enhance wellbeing and improve health outcomes both during and after treatment.
They've seen first hand the positive impact of exercise of a friend going through cancer and always promote the benefits of movement and love to fundraise to help others.
Sophie and Jessica started fundraising on their 4th Birthday during covid and have continued to fundraise ever since. By their 8th birthday they had raised a total of £10,277 for a variety of charities.
As park run enthusiasts for the social aspect as well as the exercise, the MOVE 5k your way principle couldn't have felt more right. Our very good friend Cheryl is a shining example of the power of movement during a cancer journey. She had a mastectomy and all the treatment to get through breast cancer and out the other side and she is joining us on our 84 mile hike along Hadrians Wall.
Sophie and Jessica are just 9 years old and have already completed the National 3 peaks in 24 hours. This is an incredible achievement most adults would find challenging but to complete 84 miles in 4 days is another level. Doing 20 miles in a day and having to get up early and do it all again for 4 days is both physically and mentally tough but they are determined and need your support!
Our first walking day will be Sunday 24th May, walking West to East, whatever you can do to help would be appreciated. We love that the charity was founded in our home County of Nottingham, that it is small but growing so the girls can see exactly where the money is going and how it can help others.
Sophie is also cutting her hair for the Little Princess Trust on 17th May so that her hair can be made into a wig to help a young person with cancer feel more confident through their treatment journey.
We are very proud of them both and their selfless act to keep fundraising for others.
They want to increase their total fundraising total to £12,000 so they need just £1723, let's help make their target possible :-)
