Story

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. We’re here to stop them in their tracks. I’m taking part in The Twilight Walk 2027 to raise money for brain tumour research because this cause is incredibly close to my heart. In April, when i was just 17, my mum was diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive types of brain tumours. My mum is a single mum who has worked incredibly hard throughout my life to give me the best opportunities she possibly could. She has always done her best for me, putting so much of herself into making sure I was okay and that I had the chance to build a good future for myself. She has been there for me through so much, and I honestly don’t know how I would cope without her. She means more to me than I could ever put into words. Seeing someone you love go through something so horrible like this made me really realise how important research and better treatments really are.

I’m taking part because I want to help make a difference for my mum and for all the other families facing the same heartbreaking diagnosis. I want to do something positive in a situation where so much is out of my control. Brain tumour research has historically been underfunded. Between 2002 and 2021, just 1% of national cancer research funding went towards brain tumours. I hope that by raising money, I can contribute towards research that gives people more treatment options, more time and more hope for the future.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, means so much to me and helps support this important cause.

Thank you to everyone who donates or shares my page. It really means the world to me. ❤️
