There will be a number of events held throughout 2023 in order to raise funds to support the important work done by In2ScienceUK.

Information about the charity:

In2scienceUK was founded in 2010 by Dr. Rebecca McKelvey, who aimed to provide young people from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds an opportunity to gain practical insight into the STEM sector as well as the knowledge and confidence to progress to university.

Students from low income and Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds face major barriers when pursuing their interest in PGR. This results in their under-representation in postgraduate research, and academia. The In2research Programme tackles each of these barriers through its innovative approach to support lasting positive change. This programme aims to help each participant to achieve their potential and secure their future in academia while promoting diversity and inclusion in the sector as a whole

Each year In2scienceUK receives over 2,000 student applications and gives nearly 500 students the opportunity to take part in life-changing STEM placement opportunities, working alongside researchers and industry professionals to get hands-on STEM experience over the summer. To date, 75% of participants progress onto STEM degrees.
