Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page.
I suffer from Chronic open angle Glaucoma, a degenerative eye disease, that has led me to become severely sight impaired.
At the grand age of 72, I wanted to challenge my disability and do something for my soul but more importantly I wanted to do something to help others affected by sight loss.
The Challenge: I discovered the, “Camino de Santiago de Compostela” and set myself the challenge. Over 13 days, including 1 rest day, from the 13th - 26th of May 2025, I will walk an old pilgrim route 160 miles long; from Porto in Portugal to Santiago in Spain….accompanied by two very able brothers in law, Mike and Adrian.
All monies raised will be for a very worthy charity – Southampton Sight. They have been a great help to me and many others with their counselling, training, advice and physical aids.
So please, if you can part with some of your hard earned cash …..firstly you will be a star in my “eyes” but more importantly, secondly you will be helping so many people to cope with the frightening prospects of loss of sight and blindness.
