Story

"Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As the beginning of Lent approaches, many people give up something or others might decide to take up something.

4 years ago a group of 40+ people decided that we wanted to give something to charity by getting active. We completed a walking challenge for 40 days trying to each raise £100 for the Southern Area Hospice Services.

The plan was to walk together as a group however little did we know Covid would come and the walking challenge became a fantastic distraction for many people.

Since 2020 this fundraiser has now raised over £50,000 for Southern Area Hospice Services with 100+ walkers joining each year.

This is now the 5th annual event and we cant wait to get going again and raise vital funds for our local Hospice.

For those who joined us last year, I hope you will get involved again this year. This time, try to bring a friend or 2 to join our cause.

Please get in touch with the page or contact Cathy Mulholland Shields to register. We will begin on Wednesday 14th February 2024! We walk as little or as far as we can. You can also create your own dedicated JustGiving page to help raise your sponsorship by clicking the orange "start fundraising" icon on this page!

We post our daily pictures or videos showing everyone our Lenten promise with the Day number and #40days40walks here https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063591517842

Looking forward to hearing from you all " - Cathy
