Southwark Mountaineers Take Peru for St Giles Trust

Mountaineering · 3 April 2024
Imagine embarking on a thrilling adventure that not only tests your limits but also makes a positive impact on the lives of others. That's exactly what we're doing with our Mountaineering Charity Appeal, in support of the incredible work done by St Giles Trust.
St Giles Trust is a charity that provides vital support and guidance to individuals who have faced adversity and are seeking to rebuild their lives. They offer a range of services, from mentoring and counseling to practical assistance in finding employment and housing. By fundraising for St Giles Trust, we are helping them continue their important work and make a real difference in our community.
On April 3, 2024, we will be embarking on an unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of southern Peru, just 80km northwest of Cusco.
But this expedition is about more than just breathtaking views and personal achievement. It's about coming together as a team to raise funds for St Giles Trust and support their mission. Our goal is to raise £5,000 to help them provide even more resources and opportunities for those who need it most.
We invite you to join us on this incredible adventure by making a donation towards our target amount. Every pound counts and will directly contribute to changing lives for the better. Together, we can make a lasting impact and create brighter futures for individuals in need.
Let's climb mountains, overcome challenges, and make a difference together!

I work for Southwark Council running the Mayor’s Office. Through my work with the mayoralty over the years, I’ve witnessed the impact of the vital work charities like St Giles Trust make on people’s lives. With this added funding they can help and assist so many more people in need and it’s important to me to be able to help in any way I can.
